Writers And Artists on the Future of Energy

In this book, Alberta writers, poets, and artists think about energy transition and climate change. How can we envision the future? What actual options are already there? How should society adapt? With support from a Digital Now grant from Canada Council for the Arts, TRAction introduces the 10 WAYS PROJECT, a social media series that deepens the dialogue between the arts and the social and environmental challenges of the contemporary moment. Commissioning 10 artists from across Turtle Island/Canada to develop 1-minute video responses to a particular prompt, this year’s series focuses on “10 Ways to Fix the Planet”. Visit the AAC gallery on Friday, September 16th for a day long screening of Gather, A short film by Nehiyaw Iskwew artist Sandra Lamouche to accompany her gallery exhibition Generations. Gather is a work-in-progress that started with the idea of land-based dance, focusing on soniyaw niyipsiy (wolf willow) and the growth through the seasons.
