Youth Imagine the Future

This festival invites youth (under 18) to explore solutions to the Climate Crisis, green technology and nature-based solutions, (eg. Miyawaki tiny forests.) Workshops are offered for groups or classes. Youth work to envision a better future, both in terms of the climate crisis and social equity. They are then invited to show our community (a wide area of Eastern Ontario covered by 2 school boards, Limestone District and Algonquin &Lakeshore District), their vision either in a piece of art or as the setting in a short story. Art and stories are displayed in a Kingston Art Gallery and the public are invited in. Local politicians, artists, writers and environmentalists come to present awards to approximately 24 students whose work meets the criteria on the website and is compelling and unique.
